UV & LASER-DELIVERY FIBER

Low-Index Coating for UV and Laser-Delivery Optical Fiber

The TZ-140 / 3360 system can be evaluated for medical, UV and laser-delivery fiber architectures that require a 1.40-class low-index primary coating and a protective outer layer. Wavelength-specific transmission and power behavior remain finished-fiber qualification items.

Start with the complete manufacturing requirement.

  • UV, deep-UV or laser-delivery wavelength
  • Fiber geometry and optical architecture
  • Coating dimensions, bend conditions and handling
  • Finished-fiber transmission, power and environmental tests

The application description does not establish medical-device certification, UV transmission or power-handling performance. These must be verified on the finished fiber under the intended conditions.

Questions for application planning

What should be shared for UV or deep-UV fiber evaluation?

Provide the wavelength range, fiber structure, target optical behavior, coating dimensions, process conditions and finished-fiber transmission test method.

Does a low refractive index guarantee laser-delivery performance?

No. Wavelength, glass and coating geometry, bend conditions, defects, process quality and the complete finished-fiber test all affect performance.

Does the medical-fiber application label establish certification?

No. It identifies an intended application only. Device safety, sterilization compatibility and regulatory qualification require separate evidence.
